Good product design starts with a solid understanding of your users. What are their goals? What brought them to your product? What is their background? What do they care about? What do they not care about?
We use several research methods to uncover these insights:
Analytics Audits where we pop the hood on an existing product and examine quantitative usage data
Surveys for both users and internal stakeholders to gather longform responses alongside statistical quantitative data
Interviews with stakeholders and users to start a dialog, learn from them first-hand, and ask follow-up question
Focus Groups to gather insights from groups of users face–to-face in a format where they can build off of each others’ comments
