Business Development Director

The Position

The Business Development Director is a key role responsible for increasing the amount, size, and quality of new business opportunities. We’re looking for an analytical and marketing-savvy collaborator to  provide effective strategy in prospect management and proposal creation working both directly and supporting the team to win work from new and existing clients. This role combines strategic oversight with direct involvement, aiming to significantly advance the success of Savas’ presence at large.


Develop and implement comprehensive business growth strategies to attract new clients and expand the agency's market share. This includes:

  • Cultivating new opportunities and maximizing revenue from existing clients
  • Identifying strategies to target new clients that leverage team capacity (Labs) and the efforts/support of the Business Development Team
  • Conducting regular strategic business reviews with clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborating with other departments to develop and implement new services and solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients

Manage business development efforts and high-level account responsibilities, guiding clients from initial engagement through to project initiation. This includes:

  • Leading Business Development Team in qualifying leads during initial touch point video calls, asking questions, presenting Savas Labs as a great partner, and qualifying the budget/ask including reviewing RFP documentation or specific information that comes in around prospective client asks/opportunities
  • Transitioning accounts from “sold” to “active project” with the aid of the project management and business development teams
  • Researching, building relationships, and growing existing accounts; Assisting project managers with account-level conversations, attending key client meetings where necessary
  • Working with prospective clients to understand their needs and propose solutions to drive new business, growth, and profitability; Negotiating contracts and closing deals with clients

Lead, manage and mentor the business development team, setting clear goals and expectations, and fostering a culture of success. This includes:

  • Acting as a strategic advisor to both the agency and clients, positioning the agency as a leader in creative problem solving as well as digital design and development solutions
  • Leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness for both business development and account growth; identifying and developing new sales collateral for outreach and response to inbound leads
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services to clients
  • Supporting marketing initiatives to help uplift the Savas Labs brand and improve sales effectiveness
  • Measuring the performance of the business development team and ensuring our sales systems, data, and CRM are up-to-date, clean and efficient
