Matt Hisamoto

Senior Front-End Developer

Matt has been building websites since 2003, writing simple HTML in Notepad. A graduate of the College of Design at NC State University, he earned an Art + Design degree (initially for animation) before starting his career in the Triangle area. There, he designed, built, and animated for clients like IBM, Nationwide, CenturyLink, and Meijer. Matt was part of the team that created the widely acclaimed game SPENT for the Urban Ministries of Durham, which has been used as a tool across the world to help players come to terms with the reality of homelessness and poverty. Moving to Baltimore in 2013, he continued to hone his website-building skills on large university websites for schools like Towson, Ohio Wesleyan, and Lafayette College. This led him to set off into the world of freelance, working with friends to build websites for companies both large and small for the next seven years from various locations, finally settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Some of his highlights from this time include local NC companies like Fullsteam, Bailey's Fine Jewelry, Duke University, and Wine Authorities, and global brands like Bacardi, Thought Catalog, and Case IH. He's returning to agency life at Savas, remote from the Midwest, and is excited to bring 15 years of experience to the dev team.

A long-suffering NC State fan, Matt still enjoys watching his Wolfpack, Panthers, and Hurricanes from afar while embracing the charming appeal of the land of cheeseheads. He and his wife Sarah, their son Gavin, and doggo Quinn enjoy traveling, exploring, cooking, and working in their garden and on their 100+ year old house. Matt played lacrosse again for the first time in 12 years since college and did not break or tear anything, which he considers a huge win. He's a collector (not a hoarder) of all sorts of toys, cards, tools, and old packaging designs.
